Teaching

I have been wantiing to create a little album to hold the pictures from student teaching along with little tidbits and stuff from my first year... I was inspired to use my new bingo cards and my bind it all. I swear.... that thing and I have a love hate relationship!

I have these little guys almost done.... I used velvet ribbon around the neck and a little brad... not sure I like the look though so that is why the other two are naked!

Laundry line

So bummed! I decided at 10pm that I would try out for the gypsy contest after checking out some of the entries. Got this done in an hour... only to try to get it uploaded and find out the contest closed at midnight EASTERN time!!! So mad cuz no where did it say that on the info page. Sucks.... oh well.

Spencers gift part 2

I think this blog is making me want to do something scrappy everyday just so I have something to post! Anyway so I worked on the second part of Spencers gift and it turned out ok.... kinda blah but it will work :)

I have assembled way more page kits than I will get done, but at least I am ready to go right? AND its only Wednesday! There are more page kits packed in my bag already along with your ribbon and cartridge! Hopeing not to forget anything :)

advent calendar part 2

I put the numbers on the little tile things for my tree advent calendar. I used vinyl..... pink vinyl would have been better but I didnt have the right shade! These numbers are from designers calendar cartridge.

Boys room

Broke out the big mat for this one! I really liked now it turned out... I tell ya Im going vinyl crazy over here! That font is from the designers calendar and so is the ship.

Doors

So this whole vinyl thing.... I might be addicted! My house might be covered in vinyl next tme you see it lol! I did Kelseys door and then used this hallween cut file for SCAL for my front door. Too cute!

This was just a simple card Kelsey and I made together for her teacher finally coming back to school after being sick for so long. She was bummed she didnt bring her teacher a card like all the other kids.... bad mom I know. Better late than never though right?

Two teacher gifts done! I think I will put a white piece of paper for the background.... any ideas? I also need to attach the dry erase pen but cant figure out how I wanna do that. The idea somehow attached a thing to the fram and tied ribbon to that and the pen.

YAY I got the first part of Spencers gift done... well I need to super glue a picture hangy thing on the back but then I am done! I ended up going with a basic black ribbon to go around the edge of the picture. Used some cool fabric glue that worked like a charm.

My calendar

I said I couldnt wait to play.... :) I had this piece of metal laying around so thought I would try and make a calendar... SUPER easy with the gypsy to lay it all out before cutting it. My biggest issue was trying to line the calendar cut out up on the metal sheet.... HOW??? Its a little crooked and is driving me crazy! I am telling myself to leave it alone... just walk away... so hard!

I will design the number/empty boxed next to finish this up... oh ya and the months. Cool though huh?

I LOVED this idea at craft warehouse and want to make one of my own They sell the magnet board with the calendar on it for $9.99 and then I would just need to embelish it. OR I could attempt to cut vinyl with my new cartridge for the calendar..... Hmmm wonder which would be cheaper?

I saw this at Craft Warehouse... the vinyl to buy was $26.00!! I thought I would figure out how to make it... but instead I found a file to cut on Sure Cuts a Lot and purchased it for $2.95......

Advent tree... half done

I bought this cute tree last year with the intent of making an advent tree out of it. I glued on the paper and painted the edges with pink! I have yet to hang the little tile things and number them... hmmm how to do that.......???? any ideas?

So I am not sure how well I like my color combo but I LOVE how the pattern on the canvas turned out!

Now I just gotta figure out how I am going to decorate it....

Teacher gifts part one....

Ok, so I saw this SUPER cute teacher gift idea in Simply Handmade magazine. Heres some pics... I am waiting for my red and green vinyl to finish it up. I included the picture in the magazine so you get the idea of the finished project. I wish I could find the paper they used, but settled for the pencil paper... online order here I come.... again lol

I dont know how to turn the pictures yet... sorry!

Also... the white vinyl is on the back of the glass and the black is on the front so that the number of days can be written on the glass with dry erase and wiped clean every day. I got the frames at wal mart two for $6

Spencers gift

I cant say that I will rush out and work with fabric on the cricut again... but I have to say I love how it turned out.... ya there are a few things I would change about it now, but I see the finish line here! Just need to find some ribbon to run along the edges to cover my mistake of not cutting the sand piece of fabric long enough to wrap around on both sides. I already tried to frame it but the canvas didnt fit :(

I am still wondering if I should add his name somewhere on it....

alphabet wall hanging

So heres the thing.... I think these chpboard/wooden like letters are made by lil' Davis and I somehow do not have the F or the M!!! Do you have them by chance in your stash so I dont have to scour ebay???

I cant decide if I will use the existing frame its currently sitting on and back it in white or if I will go buy another canvas and attatch the letters to that. A nicer thicker 12x12 frame costs about $20... so thats out.
